Please pack your rising star's lunch and snack each day. Please keep in mind that the type of foods that your child consumes can have an impact on them throughout the school day (i.e. too much sugar promotes sluggish behavior & thinking). If your child has allergies, please let us know so that we can make the necessary accommodations.
As a student, you will let us know what interests you have and how we can help your talents flourish. We support our community and local businesses and outsource our electives.
We follow the North Carolina's state testing guidelines for private schools. We test at the 3rd, 6th, 9th & 11th grade level. We tailor testing to your child's learning style!
We utilize the the Eclectic Approach style of learning! That simply means we use a blend of different curriculum and learning approaches. We value family time, field trip experiences and hands on learning. We cover all subjects to include:
We teach several grade levels in a one room setting. Our elementary class begins at 9:50 a.m. and the day ends at 2:30 p.m. Middle and high schoolers begin their day at 10:00 and end at 3:00 p.m. You may begin dropping off at 9:30 a.m.,We take several mental breaks throughout the day. We have a 1:8 teacher to student for our elementary cohort - a 1:12 teacher to student ratio for our middle and high school cohort. At this time, we do not offer before or after school care services.
We encourage and believe in a stress free learning environment for each student. We believe that bullying has NO place in any environment. Please note, bullying of any kind, be it mental, verbal or physical, is NOT tolerated at our school under any circumstances. We foster a zero tolerance bullying policy!
While we are not a religious based school, we do respect & make accommodations for those who have different religious rituals (within reason) that must continue throughout the school day.
While we teach general education students, we do make some exceptions and accommodations to the admittance of students that we accept each year. Each admittance is on a case by case basis. While we also accept students diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, or gifted abilities, we expect for any violent/negative behaviors that may be associated with these diagnoses to be controlled in such a way as to not interrupt the learning environment.
We do practice fire, tornado and inclement weather drills. While we do have a slightly different school schedule than surrounding counties (this includes Wake County), we do adhere to inclement weather delays that the county issues. We lock the doors to the building, once class is in session as well. Please note, that these doors will be unlocked at arrival and dismissal time.
We have suspended our before/after school care programs. We are more than happy to recommend local programs that are affordable and safe for your child.
There are times in which students may need a laptop or musical instrument rented to them. The parents would need to pay the fee of $25-$50/monthly for each device rented. The fee depends on the equipment needed. We ship out devices to parents.
We outsource our transportation needs, utilizing a company that provides safe and a luxury line of vehicles. Parents are responsible for this cost and these services are provided on a case by case basis. Fees will also vary according to the families' needs but can range from $60-$195 per day.
We offer stress free and bully-free learning type of environment. This means that your student, regardless of grade level, will NOT carry textbooks home, will NOT receive homework assignments (unless requested) and will NOT take standardized testing every year (only those grade levels required by the state will standardize test - 3rd, 6t

By doing this, we are able to incorporate input from the student to create a course schedule that works for the student. We do NOT place emphasis on age and grade level when graduating students - this means, for example, that we focus on the skills and ability of the child and not that the student is 16 years old graduating from high school. If the student has the drive, we encourage that drive and help the student succeed as best as possible.
The tuition fee for high schooler covers cost of school I.D. (if they don't plan on applying for a driver's license) & one college admission application fee (up to $50). Driver's Ed, SAT/ACT, EOG fees are paid by the parent. *monthly field trips are optional and parents may pay to attend

We help students enroll in a NC approved driver's education program, in assisting the student with taking college courses while getting their high school education with us (we help with enrollment process and with obtaining aid from the college, if the student has been with us for 2 or more years. We work with parents and the student's schedule to accommodate for extracurricular activities (many of our students are enrolled in activities outside of school like swimming practice, dancing, sports, etc.) . If the student wishes to enroll in the armed services, we help them navigate that process as well.
We outsource our electives based on the student's interests. We do this to support our community and local businesses :) This means, for example, that if the student has interests in archery, soccer, piano, etc. we find approved members of the community to render these services to our students.

This means that there are some students who learn with us 100% online, there are some who come to class, physically, some days and stay at home other days, and then there are those who physically come to class every day. The choice that the student chooses is not etched in stone, this means that these three options are available throughout the year and can be changed according to the student's schedule & life at any time and as often as needed. We do teach students with learning disabilities as well.
